OUR PRODUCTS
Q: Are your nuts organically grown?
Yes. All of Dr. Linda's nuts are certified organic by the USDA. Our suppliers meet strict organic certification standards, meaning no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers are used at any stage of growing or harvesting.
Q: Are your nuts sprouted?
Yes -- our nuts are soaked for 6 to 8 hours in filtered water and then gently dehydrated at low temperatures. This process reduces phytic acid content significantly, resulting in a more digestible nut with greater bioavailable magnesium per serving.
Q: Where is your seaweed sourced?
Our seaweeds -- including dulse, kelp, alaria, and kombu -- are wild harvested from certified clean, sustainably managed waters. They are dried rather than chemically processed, so the full spectrum of naturally occurring minerals including magnesium, iodine, iron, and calcium remains intact.
Q: Does seaweed expire or go bad?
Dried seaweed has a long shelf life when stored properly in airtight packaging away from moisture and light. Most products carry a best-by date on the packaging. Seaweed that has been exposed to moisture may lose texture and flavor -- when in doubt, check for any off smell or visible moisture damage.
Q: Are your products suitable for vegans?
Yes. All Dr. Linda's products -- organic sprouted nuts, wild harvested seaweeds, magnesium oil, and seaweed popcorn -- are plant-based and suitable for vegan and vegetarian diets.
Q: How do I store my products?
Nut products are best kept in a glass jar in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight. Seaweeds should be stored in airtight packaging in a cool, dark place -- exposure to moisture is the main thing to avoid. Magnesium oil is for external use only and can be stored at room temperature.
MAGNESIUM & NUTRITION
Q: How much magnesium is in your nuts and seaweeds?
Magnesium content varies by product. Almonds, cashews, and pecans are among the most magnesium-rich whole food sources available -- cashews in particular are noted for high magnesium per serving. Our seaweeds, especially kelp and kombu, are exceptionally mineral-dense and deliver magnesium alongside co-factor iodine and trace minerals that support absorption. Specific nutrition information is listed on each product page.
Q: What are the signs of magnesium deficiency?
Common signs include muscle cramps or twitching, restless legs, poor sleep, low energy, headaches, anxiety, and chocolate cravings. Magnesium plays a role in more than 300 enzyme reactions in the body, so deficiency can show up in many different ways. Dr. Linda's products -- including our sprouted nuts, wild harvested seaweeds, and transdermal magnesium oil -- are designed to help address magnesium deficiency through whole food and direct absorption rather than isolated supplementation.
Q: Is seaweed safe during pregnancy?
Seaweed is generally considered safe during pregnancy in moderate amounts and is a natural source of folate, iodine, and magnesium -- all important nutrients during pregnancy. However iodine content varies significantly by seaweed type, and excessive iodine intake is not recommended during pregnancy. We always recommend consulting your OB/GYN or midwife before adding new foods or supplements to your routine during pregnancy.
MAGNESIUM OIL
Q: What is magnesium oil and how do I use it?
Magnesium oil is a concentrated solution of magnesium chloride and water applied directly to the skin rather than taken orally. Despite the name it is not an oil -- it has a slightly slick feel due to the mineral concentration. Spray onto the skin and massage in, or leave it to absorb on its own. Common application areas include the feet for whole-body relaxation before sleep, sore or tight muscles after exercise, and the abdomen for digestive and hormonal support. Start with 5 to 10 sprays daily and increase as needed.
Q: Why use magnesium oil instead of oral magnesium supplements?
Oral magnesium supplements must pass through the digestive tract, and a significant portion is lost before reaching your cells -- particularly if you have gut sensitivity or compromised absorption. Transdermal magnesium oil bypasses the digestive system entirely, delivering magnesium directly through the skin to muscles and soft tissue. Many people find it more effective and easier to tolerate than pills or powders.
